February Meeting
Sheffield Autistic Society is hosting an online support group each month. For autistic adults 18+ only – we will meet online over Zoom. The next session of this monthly group will be on Thursday 26 February from 7pm until 8.30pm:

DWP Home Visiting Service
Did you know about the about how the DWP Home Visiting Service works?
Customers can request a home visit if they are struggling to access DWP services, complete paperwork to make a claim, or have their benefits reviewed. Although customers are unable to self‑refer directly to the Visiting Team, they can contact the relevant benefit department, and the telephony agent will be able to make a referral to us if a home visit is appropriate and the customer requests one.
Sheffield DocFEST
It’s a call-out for short documentaries produced by people with learning disabilities and/ or autism, for DocFest this year. There will be a workshop at the Showroom next month.
Sheffield Autism Partnership Network
Shaping the future of the network
As of the end of this financial year, the ICB will no longer be funding SAPN or the Autism workstream at VAS. Whilst this is disappointing for everyone involved, it does give us an opportunity to take a holistic look at this work and reshape it as we seek new funding sources. In order to do this, I need to know what you think!
There is an anonymous survey here where you can share your views on what you currently value about the network and the wider Autism work that I am doing, and anything you think is missing or that you would like to see us do in the future, and I will be holding a workshop on the 11th March from 1-4pm at The Circle if you would like to discuss it in person.
If neither of these options works for you, please feel free to get in touch so we can figure out how you can have your insights included! It’s really important to me that I gather as many of your views as possible so that the network can continue being useful and valuable.

Research Study
- Are you interested in the way different neurotypes communicate?
- Do you want to get involved in some psychology research?
I’m a PhD student at Sheffield Hallam University and am conducting a study looking at the way autistic adults communicate.
I’m looking for both autistic and non-autistic participants. The study will take place in person and will take about an hour.
In recognition of their contribution, all participants will receive a £20 Love2Shop Voucher.
