Adult Autism Online Peer Support Group
October Meeting
Sheffield Autistic Society are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a new online support group. For autistic adults 18+ only – we will meet online over Zoom. The first session of this monthly group will be on Thursday 30 October from 7pm until 8.30pm: Everyone welcome – new members too!
Please contact Helen for more information at helen.purdie@hotmail.co.uk and she will send you the joining details if you wish to come along and let you have a copy of the group guidelines which set out what to expect at the meetings which are friendly and supportive.
Parent Carer Forum Sessions
Peer support and drop-in sessions – no need to book
Parent Carer Support Group 7th November
A monthly peer support group for parents who identify as disabled and/or neurodivergent and care for a child or young person with additional needs. No diagnosis needed, and no need to book.

Coffee & Chat at Burton Street – 27th November
Coffee & Chat is drop-in style coffee morning for parent carers. You can just attend the drop in or this month you’ll be able to speak with a professional to be confirmed.

Suicide Prevention Toolkit for Autistic Adults
The South Yorkshire ICB Learning Disability & Autism Team has created a draft Suicide Prevention Toolkit for autistic adults. They’re seeking feedback from carers, families, and professionals to ensure the toolkit is clear and supportive and accessible for all. Beneath the Surface:
An exhibition themed around mental health
This fantastic annual event showcases the artistic expressions of people with lived experience of mental health and those who work in mental health support services. Contributors were invited to interpret what ‘Beneath the Surface’ means to them, so there is a wide range of artwork.
The exhibition runs to 31 October at The Circle, 33 Rockingham Lane, Sheffield S1 4FW.
Dads’ Talk & Chalk
15 October & 19 November
Are you a dad or male carer of a child or young person with additional needs? Do you enjoy a cuppa or a game of snooker? Come and join a group of like-minded men to chat, play pool, or simply enjoy a cup of tea in good company – you’re welcome here. We don’t judge – we support and understand. No diagnosis required. Just turn up, no need to book.
